I woke up remembering wise words from my Mom and, as I sipped my coffee this morning, I really felt that her wise words should be shared.

There was a place and time in our lives when we cared what other thought of us, what they said or might say about us, maybe this is still occurring in your daily life (it’s part of growing up, wanting to fit in, and desire of approval). Sometimes we care too much about what others say and think about us; what we do, who we talk to or befriend. It changes how we act, what we do, what we think; impacting our todays and our tomorrows. Often impacting our health; physically and mentally; beliefs, faith. Even more importantly, it can take away from the joy of our daily moments.

I have a “serving – helping” personality, I am giving, I am kind, and this was a hard life lesson for me to learn. Mom had some different words for it back then and still today, but Wayne Dyer says it this way:

“What other people think about you is none of your business”.

It’s their business.

Wasting our time thinking about what they are thinking about us serves us nothing. Seeking “their” approval not only waste’s your time and energy, it can bring you pain. That is really tuff when your a sensitive soul!! When you focus on your problems our problems expand,  get larger and multiply. When we focus on what we do well, or are talented at, our success’s get larger and increase in value and number.

It’s not about whether others approve of you but if you approve of you. ~This is what counts.

Be the best, most generous, most kind, most loving, most helpful person you can be!!

When you put yourself out there in the world and dare to follow your dreams, it is a risk; it is a vulnerable and courageous act.

People will judge you. People will talk about you.

In fact, some people won’t like you. And they don’t even know you.

As you accept yourself as you are and as you are not, you become powerful. You become free.

You will stand out.

You will upset some people.

You will create change.

Life is a grand adventure.

It takes true boldness to be yourself fully.

People have the right to think whatever they want to think about you. Let that be their business.

So what do you think about you? That is the real question today!
